She's our inspiration...meet Aria
At only 11 months old, our daughter Aria was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). We pretty much had to learn how to parent all over again with an intense focus on what our daughter could eat and how much she could eat. It was a wild ride at first to say the least but over the next several months my wife and I grew and learned in so many ways. I decided early on to take this knowledge and pair it with the gifts of Italian Ice & Gelato making that my father instilled in me. When Aria was asleep I began making diabetic-friendly desserts for her such as cookies, ice cream, and Italian Ice. There were many failures in the beginning but I kept pressing on. During snack time she would take a bite and run away...if she came back for seconds, I knew I had a winner!
As my recipes improve we are releasing test batches and raising money for innovative T1D treatments in the process. We hope you enjoy what we're working on and consider reading and donating to this research to help children like our daughter.
